This amazing town is a must seen in order to understand all the story of South Africa from the gold research, the appartheid history, Mandela's years as President to now. Don't feel scared by this town, we left Reunion Island for it so we wont have done it if we didn't feel safe here... Plenty of game reserves can be visited for one or two days around joburg.
